COVID-19 and Lucy Wagtail

24/03/2020

I just wanted to let you know what is happening at Lucy Wagtail during this challenging (and scarey!) time.

All of my mail is collected from my door daily, I do not go to any post office. I am leaving my mail in a safe place for RM to collect – thus minimising any contact.

I am not experiencing any problems with my mail collections as of yesterday. My postie has not given me any indication that there are any plans to close the mail system. Neither have I had any communication from Royal Mail to that effect.

There may, however, be unforseen delays in the postal system and, while I am still able to ship items within the quoted time frame, I’m afraid I have no control over any delays once shipped. I am keeping up to date with announcements from Royal Mail and will convey any expected delays to you, my customers.

I am no longer sending parcels which require a signature (and therefore contact) and I would advise that you nominate a safe place for the post person to leave the parcel so that any contact can be avoided. I can write these instructions on the package.

I am, however noting that some of my tweed suppliers are reducing their service. I do have a wide range of tweeds and fabrics in stock and although the supply of some tweeds may be restricted there are many more to choose from.

The Coronavirus Pandemic has created challenging times for us all and I would like to re-assure my customers that it’s business as usual at Lucy Wagtail, albeit with extra care taken over my already stringent hygiene routines and a few few shortages.

I would also ask that you monitor the postal system in your own country to assess whether to expect any delays should you place an order.

At present there are few confirmed cases here in the Highlands of Scotland and I and my family are fit and well but I will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated as to whether I anticipate delays or temporary shut down of Lucy Wagtail.

Thank you and stay safe everyone!
