Scandi Style

One of the things I love most about my job is getting to source and choose new fabrics to make into gorgeous lampshades, cushions, blinds, curtains and other lovely soft furnishings. Last month I was concentrating on the Scandinavian Collection which will be launched in the Spring. Don’t you just love those big, bold patterns that are indicative of Scandinavian design. Butterflies, Cats, Birds, Trees and not forgetting the fabulous Geometric designs too.

So, while on a trip to Kilmarnock to deliver a huge oversized Harris Tweed lampshade (thank you dear hubby… read more about that project over here), I (note I didn’t say “we”!) just couldn’t resist popping into IKEA on the way through Glasgow for some meatballs and a nosey. So, as well as some much needed storage solutions for my work room, I picked up a couple of fantastic fabrics.

Check out this in your face pop of colour!

However, that’s not all, I spent some time during the dark days of February researching and sourcing some very gorgeous Swedish design fabrics from abroad and I am totally in awe of them and very tempted to squirrel some away to make shades and blinds for ourselves, we could do with a bit of Hygge around here… Pass the candles, blankies and hot choc please!

Just to let you in on what I’m so excited about here’s a sneak peek of some of those fabulous Swedish prints. Look out for them becoming available as lampshades in the very near future, or, of course, you can pre-order if you feel a need for some hygge in your home now!

Next stop Stockholm I think!
